Please read this Policy together with the general Risalah.tv Privacy Policy. Where consent is legally required, we will request it separately.
1. Information We Collect
A. Student and Parent/Guardian Details
We may collect a student’s name, age or age range, parent or guardian name, email address, phone number, preferred language, time zone, and information needed to arrange and deliver classes. For children, we may request parent or guardian contact details and consent where required by law.
B. Enrollment and Learning Information
We may collect selected courses, enrollment status, attendance, progress, assignments, quiz or assessment results, teacher feedback, communications about learning needs, and certificates or completion records where offered.
C. Class Participation and Submitted Content
For live classes, workshops, or online activities, we may process chat messages, questions, assignments, submitted files, and content you choose to share. Audio, video, photographs, or class recordings will be collected only where the activity and settings require them, with notice and consent where legally required.
D. Payments and Financial Records
If a course or activity has a fee, we may receive billing details, payment status, transaction references, and accounting records. Payments may be handled by third-party processors. We do not intend to store full payment-card details on our own servers.
E. Technical Information
Our website and service providers may collect IP address, device and browser information, login and security logs, pages visited, and cookie or similar technology data, depending on the services and settings used.

We handle information for purposes reasonably connected to providing Academy services, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.
3. Children and Parent/Guardian Consent
Many Academy programs are intended for children. We take children’s privacy seriously and aim to collect only information reasonably needed to provide education, communicate with families, and support learning.
Parents or legal guardians should complete or supervise registration for younger children and provide consent where required by law. We may communicate with parents or guardians about enrollment, scheduling, attendance, learning progress, safety, and course-related matters.
We do not knowingly sell children’s personal information. Parents or legal guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a child’s information, subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping requirements.
Children should not share home addresses, passwords, private contact details, or other sensitive information in class chats or assignments unless required through an approved process and supervised by a parent or guardian.
4. Live Classes, Recordings, and Student Work
Some classes or workshops may use video-conferencing, learning-management, or collaboration tools operated by third parties. Those providers may process participant information under their own terms and privacy policies.
If a class is to be recorded, we will provide notice and obtain consent where required by law. We will explain the intended purpose and access arrangements. We will not publicly publish a child’s image, voice, name, work, or testimonial for promotion without appropriate parent or guardian consent and any other consent required by law.
Student assignments and creative work may be viewed by relevant teachers and authorized Academy personnel for educational purposes. Additional uses, such as public display or promotion, require appropriate permission.
5. Sharing Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share it as reasonably necessary with:
- Teachers and authorized Academy personnel: to deliver classes, assess work, and support students.
- Parents or guardians: where appropriate and legally permitted, particularly for children’s programs.
- Service providers: hosting, registration, learning platforms, video meetings, email, payment processing, and technical support.
- Legal or safety parties: where required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security, abuse, or urgent safety concerns.
- Others with consent: where you or an authorized parent or guardian permits a specific disclosure.
We take reasonable steps to limit access and disclosure to what is needed for the relevant purpose.
6. Third-Party Platforms and External Links
Academy activities may use external websites, video-conferencing tools, online forms, learning platforms, payment providers, or communication services. When you use these tools, your information may also be governed by the provider’s privacy policy. Please review those policies and settings.
Risalah Academy is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services it does not operate.

8. Security, Storage, and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for course delivery, student support, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by record type. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable law.
9. International Processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside Quebec or Canada. Where applicable law requires it, we will assess relevant privacy implications and use appropriate safeguards for transfers or access from other jurisdictions.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, request deletion where legally permitted, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or ask how information is handled. Parents or guardians may make requests concerning their child where legally authorized.
